Currently, our trash pickup day is Monday. Please do not put out your garbage until 6:00 p.m. on Sunday and please bring in your empty trash cans on Monday as soon as possible. This is a city ordinance.
Pickup takes place between 7:00 AM and 4:00 PM, but times may vary from week to week. To ensure pickup of all items, please have them at the curbside by 7:00 AM.
The City’s solid waste program provides weekly curbside pickup of garbage and recyclables, and from early April until late November, curbside pickup of yard waste is also offered. More information about yard waste can be found on the Farmington Hills Website.
If you have any questions not answered here, please contact the City of Farmington Hills Public Services Department at (248) 871-2530, or here.
The City of Farmington Hills offers curb side recycling of items such as paper, cardboard, plastic, glass and more.
Recycling also comes on Mondays.
Recycling guidelines as well as a calendar of hazardous materials recycling events can be found on the Farmington Hills Website.
Farmington Hills provides snow and ice control for selected streets. Streets fall into one of three categories: major roads, school bus routes, and subdivision streets. Major roads and school bus routes receive the highest priority; they are plowed and salted following any accumulation of snow or ice. Local streets are plowed following accumulation of four inches or more of snow. If the accumulation is less than four inches, subdivision streets are spot salted, on hills, curves, and intersections.
Please do not shovel or snow blow snow from your driveways or sidewalks onto the roads. This provides a hazard for our walkers and drivers.
NEWLY Constructed Streets will not have salt applied for at least 1 year after completion of the construction, to allow the street's materials to completely cure (per FH City Engineering).
See if/when you streets are getting plowed at the Snow Plow Progress map.
